DocQ ("we," "our," or "us") is a document management mobile application developed by DigiMarine Innovations. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the DocQ app.
By using DocQ, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
🔒 DocQ is designed with privacy in mind. All your documents are stored locally on your device. We do not upload, sell, or share your personal documents with any third party.
DocQ collects the following types of information:
- Profile Information — Name and optional profile photo that you provide when setting up your account.
- Document Data — Document names, expiry dates, issuer information, and document images that you add to the app. This data is stored locally on your device only.
- Usage Data (Telemetry) — Anonymous usage events such as app launch, screen views, and feature interactions. This data does not contain any personally identifiable information.
- Camera & Photo Access — The app requests camera access to scan QR codes and photo library access to attach document images. We do not store or transmit images outside your device.
We use the information collected for the following purposes:
- To provide and maintain the DocQ app and its features.
- To display your documents, expiry alerts, and keeper tracking information.
- To improve the app experience through anonymous telemetry data.
- To send document expiry notifications (local notifications only — no external server involved).
- To enable QR code scanning and generation for document management.
Your document data is stored locally on your device using secure local storage (Hive database). We do not transmit your documents or personal files to any external server.
Anonymous telemetry data is transmitted securely to our analytics backend (Supabase) using encrypted connections. This data contains no personal identifiers and cannot be linked back to you.
⚠️ We strongly recommend enabling device-level security (PIN, biometrics) to protect your DocQ data in case of device loss or theft.
DocQ uses the following third-party services:
- Supabase — Used for anonymous telemetry data collection. No personal data is stored. (Supabase Privacy Policy)
- Google Play Services — For app distribution on Android devices.
- Apple App Store & TestFlight — For app distribution and beta testing on iOS devices. (Apple Privacy Policy)
We do not integrate with advertising networks, social media trackers, or any other data brokers.
You have full control over your data in DocQ:
- Access — All your data is visible within the app at all times.
- Deletion — You can delete individual documents or your entire profile from within the app. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.
- Portability — You can export your documents via the Share feature.
- Opt-out — Contact us to opt out of anonymous telemetry collection.
DocQ is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
Continued use of DocQ after changes to this policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
